The Black Woman Is God create spaces primarily for Black women artists who lack access to gallery spaces and museums. Because of this, the exhibit works to financially support the artists by giving them funds for submitting their work. This year has been both exciting and challenging. TBWIG moved from receiving support from an art center to acquiring a gallery. This means we now have to cover the overhead ourselves. TBWIG's access to space created opportunities for other exhibitions: a retrospective, a family exhibition, and a youth-led curation, providing young artists space in an environment of San Francisco where they are invisible. To continue these opportunities, we need your support to keep the gallery going and pay artists. Please be generous to TBWIG and all projects that come about because of TBWIG, so that we can continue to give back to the community that we serve. Below is the link to the Gofundme donation.
